When configuring a static NAT on a cisco PIX firewall you need to have a NAT command and a GLOBAL command in the firewall referenced by a specific entry number, ie:
pix(config)# nat (inside, outside) 1 interface
pix(config)# global (inside, outside) 1 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0
Verification:
Show nat
Show global
